Held in person at Canadian Dental Implant Training Centre (1959 152 St, Surrey) and includes lecture, hands-on workshops, and a live surgical demonstration led by a credentialed Oral Implantologist.

16 CE credits upon completion of the course.
Who should take this course?
This program is designed for dentists who are starting out in implant placement surgeries and want to have solid exposure to foundational surgical implant dentistry. You will learn to evaluate typical clinical scenarios and select the appropriate cases for your clinical abilities in order to deliver a positive outcome for your patients.

This is a prescriptive course with simple guidelines for success. You will receive checklists for case selection, case work up, implant selection, clinical preparation and surgical armamentarium. The course is meant to be a turnkey approach to implementing basic implant surgeries into the general dental office.

Understand bone divisions and bone quality in implant dentistry.

Develop case evaluation and selection skills appropriate for beginners.

Learn the fundamentals of single-tooth implant-supported crown planning.

Prepare patients for surgery and provide post-operative care.

Meet Your Course Instructors, Drs. William Liang & Paul Newitt
Dr. Paul Newitt completed his Bachelors Degree from Simon Fraser University in 1988 and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of British Columbia in 1993. He spent two years interning at the British Columbia Cancer Agency before moving onto private practice in Vancouver. Dr. Newitt has continued his education in dental technologies and advanced aesthetics over the last 20 years. In 2016, Dr. Newitt received his Associate Fellow credentials from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Newitt has taught in various disciplines of dentistry over the years, including implant, cosmetic, and laser dentistry. He founded and led BITE Club, a study club for GP's looking to gain a better understanding of both implant treatment planning as well as implant restoration. A lifelong learner, he is also an alumnus of the AAID Vancouver MaxiCourse, Decode Dentistry's flagship program and Surgical Implant Residency.
Dr. William Liang attended the University of British Columbia and received his Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology in 1981 and his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree in 1983. At graduation, he was awarded the Canadian Oral and Maxillo-Facial Prize for highest standing in the area of Oral Surgery. He has been practicing dentistry in Surrey, BC for the past 35 years. Currently his practice is focused on adult restorative and implant dentistry.
Dr. Liang is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral Implantology/ Implant Dentistry, Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, Fellow and Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, Fellow of the Misch Implant Institute and Honored Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Course Outline
This course provides a hands-on introduction to basic implant surgery, equipping dentists with the foundational knowledge and skills to safely integrate implant placement into their practice.
Participants will learn case selection, treatment planning, surgical techniques, and post-operative care through a structured, step-by-step approach, including a live surgical demonstration.
